THE KON DOCTRINE

OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

1) No one speaks ill of Turia or Turians, not even another Turian- Turia is perfect and Turians are perfect to all non-Turians. Issues and matters between Turians can always be resolved through proper channels meaning there is no need, therefore, to talk bad about or bash any other Turian EVER to ANYONE. Even when frustrated at a person or situation, respect for fellow Turians is non-negotiable.

2) Intent over content- In Turia we accept the intentions of words over they way they are said. If a girl INTENDS to be respectful or give a compliment but does it in an improper format, then the INTENTION of her words are more important than the mistakes she made while saying it. This is intended to keep Turians from focusing on the minute details of conversation and HOW things are said and to focus instead on the actual CONTENT of the words being said.

3) Inclusive not exclusive – Turia wishes to grow and add additional Turians. We do not exclude anyone, whether well versed in all things Gor or those who have never read a book...yet. Visitors who come in are always welcomed and are NEVER to be told they are unwelcome or they aren't fit for Gor or they are not dressed properly and so and and so forth. We have all been new once. BE NICE, BE FRIENDLY, BE HELPFUL.

4) There is usually more than one way to do all things in Gor - You've read the books? Good! Then you know quite a bit about Gor. That does not mean you know everything or that there is only ONE way to do something. The books show quite clearly that there are several ways to do nearly ANYTHING from serving, greeting, and even the naming of objects and peoples. Each City was said to hold its own laws and procedures, giving our City and many others the chance to develop OUTSIDE of the books, using the books as a basis and a guideline for knowledge and growth. Do not immediately assume that because someone is doing something differently than you learned how to do it or believe it should be done according to the books that they are wrong.

5) Always think of any reason at all  to STAY in Turia before asking to leave Turia. If you are constantly looking for reasons to leave you will always find or invent one. Instead, get into the habit of looking for those things you like and treasure about your city. Those things that make you want to stay and would make it difficult to leave. These are the reasons that some have been here for years. These are the reasons we survive as the longest running city of IMVU Gor.

6) We will help you 100 times with what you don't know, but only once with something you DO know.- We are patient with learners and more than willing to help you as much as you need in order to properly learn Gorean ways. If you act out of place because of ignorance, we are forgiving. However, if you act out of place and you know better, your warnings are limited to ONE. You are expected to comply with all laws and meet the highest of expectations. You are Turian. You are Gor.

Founding Principles of Turia as laid down by Kon and The Advisory Council at the turning over of the Home Stone and signed into Law by Kon, formalized this day by the Magistrate of Turia.
